Mr. Guest
How about you Email me or Private message me... if you have a beef with me , lets keep it of the trader. you seem to be the one who abuses it.. not me. it seems some people don't have a problem with me.... just you. I would LOVE to discuss it with you further but not here, it's not fair to the others.

Guys, we are ok. Chris and Kim are too busy making syrup. Might want to send a PM to webmaster if you are overly concerned about it but most of us log enough enough that it doesn't matter too much!

Yeah, something is up and we're trying to get to the bottom of it. Having problems with new users not being able to activate their accounts also. Sorry guys! And yes, the sap is finally running here!

The issue with email notifications (new posts, account activations, etc.) has been pinpointed and corrective measures taken, it may just take another day or two before email notifications work as they should. That's the short story, the long story appears below. :)

There was nothing wrong with MapleTrader.com. This website resides on a "shared server" (as do most websites) which means there are other people's websites on the same server. Someone's website on the same server either knowingly or unknowingly was involved in SPAM abuse. This is oftentimes due to an "exploit" or virus, and the owner of the site is unaware of the SPAM being produced by his account. An organization that monitors SPAM, and where it comes from, detected the SPAM and put our server on a "blacklist". ISPs such as AOL, AT&T, charter.net, etc. subscribe to this blacklist. They then block email that originates from the "offending" servers from reaching their customers.

To get off the blacklist, the SPAM has to be stopped, and a "donation" must be made to the organzation that does this monitoring and blacklisting. These steps have been taken.

These things will continue to happen to shared and dedicated servers alike, as long as there are hackers and spammers that try to steal or comprimise other people's resources. Like virus prevention software, it is a constant battle... precautions are taken, but then new exploits are found by the spammers.

Please post here if the email notification problems persists for you after Monday 3/21.

As far as the "no new messages and unable to veiw posts since last visit" problem, I see no issues at this point and can not duplicate it but will continue to monitor for that.
