BLOOD SYRUP

I have a customer who asked if i can get or make blood syrup? Any ideas as to what he is asking for.Never heard of or seen it.So of course i headed here. HELP or is he tugging my chain?

I do know that when the season warmed up 3rd week of March last year that I was about the only one that didn't pull their taps here...

I made some of the best tasting stuff of my life...The only way to describe the colour though, was 'red'...It came out looking like a ruby that had been splashed with grade B syrup...

I still have one jar of it around here somewhere...

I have some of that dark, dark syrup with a reddish tinge too.....that was the only thing I could think of....it had a very strong maple flavor, almost like sugar candy, but the texture of maple syrup.
