What does everyone think of having this as a category? Like how to make a preheater, fans, air injection, a cool buzzer that goes off every 8 min. for firing, rope barometer (still dont know what that is)etc. just to name a few, or should this be in the evaporator category?

I think it is a great idea as I am always trying to save a few bucks!

Jeremy, The rope Barometer is just what it says, it's just a peice of rope you have around the house, hang it outside...tells you exactly what the weather is,
As Syrupmaker said
Temperature
Humidity
And wind speed all in one unit.
HOW IT WORKS:
If the rope is frozen its cold
If its wet it's rainy,dry it's sunny
If its whipping side to side it's windy
pretty neat weather tool
:) something fun to put outside the sugarhouse for conversation, when folks come over you tell them what the weather is :) :) by looking at the rope :)

I have a litttle one I just salvaged but like to play around with it first. It'd be easier to pack than the big one, thats all. Guess thats jumpin the gun though anyway----jeremy

Jeremy....There is only 65 acres to park on so space is limited at times(yea right) Thats why we call it a YA'LL COME cause the more people that show the better. If you have these recipes for ribs i hope they include maple syrup as an ingrediant. If you can talk her into it bring it on.I have a barrel smoker that works pretty good if i keep away from the wobble pops and keep it going right. Mostly use it for fish. Grates are cleaned after each use. Not sure on exact dates as of yet but i'll post something later on in late spring.
